wacken open air
In July 2009 the promoters of the Wacken Open Air came up with an idea: Every headliner should get a present so that they would remember their gig at the festival. And because it's never wrong to give people something to hang on their walls every band got a portrait drawing. In very short time 18 portraits had to be created. Those drawings showed (among others) Motörhead, In Extremo, Machine Head, Subway to Sally, In Flames, Volbeat and Heaven & Hell.
The festival all portraits could be found in a small exhibition backstage in the press area. The bands themselfs got two prints of their portrait in their dressing room.
The original drawings where signed by the different musicians and found it's way to the Wacken Open Air headquarter after the festival.
